# Create Channel

Edge Signal allows you to easily create Alert Channels which are used to communicate alert rule violations to external channels such as email and SMS. Edge Signal currently supports communication via email.

* Navigate to ***Alert Configuration*** in the **ADMINISTRATION** section of the sidebar, choose ***Channels***, and click the ***Add New*** button (top right-hand corner)
* Choose a ***Channel Name*** and ***Channel Type*** (EMAIL is currently supported)
* Choose ***Recipients*** and add their *email addresses*, then click ***Create Channel***
